Scarborough is one of the few neighbourhoods in Cape Town that is away from the rest, it’s located ten kilometres from Kommetjie. It's a quiet residential zone with houses dispersed between the Slangkop and Red Hill mountains and it has magnificent views of the Atlantic. The nature that these mountains hosts is extremely interesting and there is a panoramic hiking route in Red Hill that extends to Kleinplaas Dam and Slangkop but you’ll need permits and a good level of physical fitness to do it. If you go towards Cape Town along the coast, within 25 minutes you’ll reach Chapman’s Peak Drive, also known as ‘Chappies’, an incredible coastal drive from where you’ll have majestic views with sheer drops below and huge cliffs above.
Platboom is another spot that’s 20 kilometres south, and there are many other good places to sail in Cape Town and the Table View area such as Sunset Beach, Milnerton, Big Bay and Haakgat. The impressive Table Mountain, one of the world’s seven natural wonders, is also in Cape Town.
